Job description

Heavy Equipment Operator - ABCI
ABCI, a local mid-sized civil construction company, is seeking a full-time, experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy construction equipment, primarily loaders,excavators and rollers, in support of various civil construction projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment
  • Proven record of safe operation of loaders, excavators, rollers and related machinery
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Effective communication skills (speech, vision, hearing/listening)
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, sitting, walking, and climbing
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed based on weather and project demands
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment of various types, sizes, and weights safely and efficiently
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations at all times
  • Immediately report equipment or job-site issues to the Foreman, Superintendent.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections, documenting results per company requirements
  • Conduct minor maintenance and servicing of equipment; report major mechanical issues to a supervisor
  • Clean equipment regularly and maintain it in good working condition
  • Perform all job tasks in accordance with industry best practices and equipment operational requirements
  • Carry out other duties as assigned or required by project needs
