Position: Oracle DBA
Location: Queens & Brooklyn, NY
Duration: 18 month project with likely renewal
Weekly hours: 37.5 billable hours per week
Mandatory skills: Oracle 12c and Oracle OBIEE 12c are mandatory

Job Description:
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Hands-on expertise, serving as an Oracle DBA responsible for supporting and maintaining Oracle 11g/12c database Servers in Sun Solaris with various applications, within a complex business environment.
  • Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts with in-depth knowledge and experience on Oracle database 12c R2 installation and Oracle database upgrade from 11g to 12c R2.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in database migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup/recovery using RMAN, performance oriented design, application development, data modeling, physical/logical design etc.
  • Must have a good knowledge of, and working experience with Oracle Multi-tenant database.
  • Extensive UNIX background with a required minimum experience of 5 years in running Oracle on UNIX, possessing a thorough knowledge of and experience in UNIX shell Scripting, preferably in a Sun Solaris environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of Oracle Gateway, Oracle OEM cloud control 12c, Oracle EBS R12, Oracle OBIEE 12c and Sybase database
  • Hands-on administration experience and support of Microsoft SQL Server database technologies, with experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and up.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Oracle DBA. Must be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, possessing the ability to solve application and technical problems requiring attention to details.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

Scope of Services:
  • Responsible for supporting and managing nightly backup, database/object recovery, disaster recovery and other database administration tasks.
  • Performs periodic assessment and evaluates database Server or third party products and development tools. Provide management with recommendations for upgrades and maintenance to ensure database Server is running optimally
  • Responsible for planning, designing, coordinating and administration of database Server, including database definition, structure, documentation, standard, backup and recovery strategy.
  • Work in a DBA group to support various products/applications, and assist business users and developers with application server and database server related issues.
