Job Description
Sun River Health provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who seek it, regardless of insurance status and ability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Health Center Director to support our Amityville/Copiague sites.
Coordinates all activities and supervises all staff at the assigned sites under the general supervision of the regional Vice President of Operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,940.07 - $126,175.14 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development and monitoring of site budgets.
  • Serves as liaison between central administration and practice site(s).
  • Works in collaboration with Site Medical Director, Site Dental Director, Nurse Manager, and Operation Manager to address clinical issues.
  • Ensures adherence to performance standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides operational oversight for all services at the site(s), including, coordination of provider schedules and hours of operation.
  • Participates in hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of administrative, clinical, and support staff at the site(s) and ensures appropriate staffing at the site(s).
  • Monitors monthly statistics and participates in the development and design of strategies to address areas in need of improvement.
  • Represents SRH at meetings in the county(ies) in which the Health Centers are located.
  • Serves on Regional Quality Improvement Committee and facilitates the implementation of Quality Improvement projects at the site(s).

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum Work-Related Experience: 2-4 years
Preferred Specialized Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written)

With the help of a small federal grant, the first Sun River Health site opened its doors in 1975.
