Lifeguard
The Club at Tartan Fields
Position Summary
The Lifeguard at The Club at Tartan Fields is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all members and guests using the aquatic facilities. This role requires constant vigilance, a strong understanding of water safety procedures, and a commitment to delivering a positive, family-friendly member experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain active surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas at all times
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations in a professional and courteous manner
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including rescues and first aid situations
  • Administer CPR, AED, and First Aid when necessary
  • Monitor swimmer behavior to prevent unsafe activities
  • Perform routine pool safety checks and report any hazards or maintenance concerns
  • Maintain accurate incident and accident reports as required
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the pool facility
  • Provide exceptional service and interact positively with members and guests
  • Support pool events, swim lessons, and special programs as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • Ability to swim proficiently and perform rescues as required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, and assist individuals in and out of the pool as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
