Description and Requirements
About the Role:
The IAS Investment Consultant plays a key role in supporting client investment reporting and recommendations by compiling and analyzing statistical financial, economic, and plan-specific data. In this position, you will evaluate capital market trends, assess investment performance against benchmarks, and ensure client portfolios align with investment policy objectives. You'll also participate in fund manager due diligence, collaborate with sales and marketing teams, and help drive successful client outcomes.
What You'll Do:
  • Develop, analyze, communicate, teach, present, and prepare investment strategies to support pension and retirement plan sales efforts and help close new business.
  • Analyze and monitor investment performance for non-proprietary funds using technology, due diligence, and industry publications.
  • Provide timely, accurate investment analysis and reporting to clients and internal partners, including comprehensive written investment reviews to support client retention.
  • Review investment options and participant utilization; recommend enhancements, additions, or removals as needed.
  • Maintain the due diligence database for funds not currently offered and recommend new investment options to senior management.
  • Monitor portfolios for style drift, capitalization trends, and performance concerns; draft communications and train investment analysts as needed.
  • Assess economic conditions and financial markets, communicating relevant insights and impacts on client investments.
  • Provide proactive asset allocation guidance to Defined Benefit clients, including participation in asset/liability studies and quarterly portfolio rebalancing.
  • Support client relationship management by meeting with clients and identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional services.
  • Enact investment policy statements for assigned clients, including executing trades and investing new deposits.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For:
  • 6+ years of investment performance measurement experience, with significant exposure to mutual and institutional funds.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Series 65 license required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Morningstar, and investment-related databases; familiarity with additional industry tools and programs for monitoring funds.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retirement plans, pension programs, and funding structures.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with a client-focused mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to small groups.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively based on assignment needs.
