Job description

Summit Electric Supply is an electrical distributor keeping current with innovative changes in the way our world is powered. With over 40 years of continuous growth in a $110 billion industry, you can count on Summit's stability. Summit will provide the tools you need, along with your commitment to customer service and drive to excel, to have a successful career in electrical supply distribution. 

This position will reside in a customer warehouse based in Mckinney, TX. Training will happen at our Irving Location, which is 1-3 days. Forklift exp is a MUST

Role Summary

Summit’s warehouse associates play a pivotal role in fulfilling our customers’ needs for materials and services by receiving in new material from our vendors, picking customer’s orders for will call or delivery, and participating in cycle counting and other inventory management practices.  This role is Summit’s entry level branch position and an excellent role to be introduced to the business and learn skills, product knowledge, and industry best practices that prepare the associate for future opportunities at Summit.

What you will do:

  • Pull customer tickets to fulfill orders.

  • Prepare orders for shipment to customers.

  • Load and unload Summit trucks.

  • Receive and stock products on a daily basis to replenish inventory.

  • Understand products and their capabilities and warranties.

  • Assist sales associates in fulfilling customer orders when necessary.

  • Ensure warehouse and respective outside areas are neat and clean at all times.

  • Maintaining safe practices and proactively upholds Summit’s commitment to a safe workplace.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Time management – strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written

  • Flexibility – ability to effectively adapt to change

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision

  • Aptitude for learning

Physical Challenges

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis

  • Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment
