Position Overview

Are you looking to gain leadership experience, make a difference in your community, and have a blast this summer? We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Rising High School Seniors and Graduating Seniors to join our team as Summer Program Youth Assistants.

In this role, you will work closely with adult instructors to facilitate a fun, safe, and engaging environment for younger students (grades K8) attending our district's summer enrichment, academic, and recreational programs. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your resume, develop communication skills, and explore careers in education, counseling, or childcare.

Key Responsibilities

As a Youth Assistant, you will be the ultimate role model. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Activity Facilitation: Help lead recreational games, arts and crafts, STEM projects, and team-building activities.
  • Student Support: Provide mentorship and academic assistance to campers, ensuring everyone feels included and supported.
  • Safety & Supervision: Assist lead teachers in monitoring students during classroom time, lunch, recess, and field trips to maintain a safe environment.
  • Operations & Setup: Help prepare daily materials, organize classrooms, and clean up after activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in daily morning briefings with staff to coordinate the day's schedule and themes.
