  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to understand requirements and build effective solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following development best practices.
  • Test and debug applications to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Help document technical designs, processes, and system functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews and team meetings.
  • Research new technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Gain exposure to software deployment, database development, and system integrations.

  • Expected graduation within the next 1-3 years.
  • Available to work:
    • Full-time during summer break
    • Up to 20 hours per week during the school year
    • Able to work in office in Grand Rapids, MI
  • Basic experience with object-oriented programming through coursework or personal projects.

  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems is a plus.
  • Interest in desktop application development using .NET technologies.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, OCR, or large language models is a plus but not required.
What Will Help You Succeed
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage coursework alongside work responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
What You’ll Gain
  • Real-world software development experience.
  • One-on-one mentorship from experienced software engineers.
  • Opportunities to contribute to production applications used across the firm.
  • Experience working with:
    • C#/.NET and VB.NET
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Visual Studio
    • Artificial Intelligence and automation technologies
  • Professional development in an agile, collaborative environment.
  • Potential opportunity for full-time employment after graduation.
Why Join Stenger & Stenger?

We’re committed to helping students bridge the gap between the classroom and their careers. You’ll work on meaningful projects, learn from experienced professionals, and develop technical and professional skills that will prepare you for success after graduation.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Flexible scheduling around your class schedule
  • Paid holidays (when eligible)
  • Hands-on mentorship and career development
  • Modern technology-focused workplace
