Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical/Computer/Data Engineering student to gain hands-on experience in a business environment. This position is responsible for executing tasks assigned by Data Integration Team Manager. This person will be expected to work 20-40 hours per week over the summer/school period with the potential to extend beyond the summer period with reduced hours.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Development of tools and procedures to enhance efficiency of routine tasks and analysis.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation of existing processes
  • Version controlling and creating documentation of existing processes
  • Trouble shooting and modifying existing software tools
  • Develop automatic reporting tools, dashboards and advanced data analytics
  • Ad hoc scripting and data analysis
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Programming experience (Python and/or Java)
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Linux/Unix based operating systems
  • Experience with version control software like GitHub or Subversion
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Quick learner, able to detect problems and react accordingly.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of statistics

Education Requirements

  • Current status as a student in Senior year working towards Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

USD 25.63 - 48.60 per hour
