Position Summary: Field Sales Engineer Intern – 2026 Summer Internship Program Location: Santa Clara, CA

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Field Sales Engineering Intern to join our team. The position will be located in Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities

Our customer's ultimate success depends on our ability to solve cutting edge problems in relation to Backplane, Mezzanine, High Speed Cables, Optics, Commercial/Industrial Products and Power. We value our relationships with these companies and we depend on our Sales Engineering Teams to foster this ongoing partnership.

What you'll do
  • Develop your professional experience through exposure to executive management and mentorship opportunities
  • Learn industry market knowledge by collaborating with peers and internal sales team on strategic initiatives
  • Exposure to the latest and greatest technology for interconnect solutions
  • Shadow a full-time sales engineer to learn how to interface with our customers, as well as learn how to sell and promote our products within assigned territories and accounts.
  • Prepare materials and participate in product presentations
  • Research and help devise strategies to differentiate our products and solutions from our competitors
  • Development and execution of a sales plan
  • Research our customer base to increase penetration at existing and future accounts
  • Assist with customer service-based inquiries to solve complex interconnect problems
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate would be pursuing their Bachelors in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field
  • The role will draw on either your electronic engineering background (signal transmission, DSP, EMI/EMC, signal integrity) and / or your mechanical engineering background (materials, tolerance analysis, CAD tools).
  • Knowledge of interconnect solutions industry is a plus
