Job description

Job Title

Abbey Road is a summer study abroad program for American and international teenagers. Our programs take place in the month of July in various locations across Western Europe, Canada and the United States. Abbey Road is seeking highly energetic, well-rounded, safety conscious and caring individuals to serve as Resident Advisors for our international and domestic programs.

The primary role of the RA is to supervise and mentor the students during their summer abroad experience, to ensure their safety and encourage their academic and personal growth. Responsibilities include initiating, organizing, executing, and supervising students during various program activities and events, such as travel, excursions, recreation, cultural events, evening outings, etc. Ensuring the safety and well-being of the students at all times while enforcing program rules and discipline. Assisting with the overall coordination and management of the program, including various administrative and logistical tasks, communications and transport; this may include driving. Providing general guidance, support, and mentorship to the students. Responding to unforeseen circumstances and emergencies while also supporting fellow staff members.

Requirements include advanced proficiency in the target language, if applicable. Experience working with young adults; examples include volunteering with youth programs, tutoring or mentoring or serving as an RA in a college dormitory. Experience traveling abroad, especially in the country of potential employment. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to lead recreational, cultural, athletic and other activities.
