    Job Purpose and Summary
    Structural steel erectors and framers construct and repair building frameworks and structures. Specifically for Tapani, a structural steel erector and framer builds pre-engineered metal buildings, erects structural steel superstructures, installs miscellaneous structural steel elements within differing construction types, and performs wood framing as it integrates with steel and overall project structural requirements.
    Responsibility
    • This position requires expertise in erecting structural steel, installing miscellaneous steel elements, and performing framing work that supports diverse project structural requirements.
    • The role involves collaboration with other team members and trades to ensure structural integrity, safety, and alignment with project documents.

    Steel Erection & Installation:
    • Assemble and erect structural steel superstructures for buildings and other facilities.
    • Install miscellaneous steel elements, such as stairs, handrails, bracing, and frames, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
    • Operate rigging equipment to hoist and position steel components for assembly.

    Pre-Engineered Metal Building Construction:
    • Build pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) according to manufacturer specifications and project plans.
    • Erect and assemble structural steel frames, roof systems, wall panels, and other components.

    Wood Framing Integration:
    • Perform wood framing tasks as they integrate with structural steel, including walls, floors, and roof systems.
    • Ensure proper coordination between framing and steel erection for structural compatibility.

    Quality Assurance & Safety:
    • Inspect work for compliance with blueprints, project specifications, and structural design.
    • Ensure all work meets safety standards and industry regulations, including OSHA requirements.
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspection of tools and equipment.

    Coordination & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with foreman, project superintendent, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Communicate effectively to resolve on-site challenges and coordinate sequencing of tasks.

    Technical Proficiency:
    • Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and construction plans.
    • Use specialized tools, equipment, and machinery required for steel and framing work.

    Job Requirements and Qualifications
    • High school education or equivalent.
    • Proven experience in structural steel erection, pre-engineered metal building construction, and wood framing. 1-2 years experience working in the industry.
    • Forklift certification.
    • Aerial lift certification.
    • Obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, Confined Space, Competent Person, Erosion and Sediment Control, Rigging and Signaling
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and structural drawings.
    • Familiarity with industry-standard tools, equipment, and machinery for steel erection and framing.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and commitment to a safe work environment.
    • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including at heights and in various weather conditions.
    • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to adapt to new and changing work environments.
    • Ability to communicate with the foreman and superintendent on project.
    • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry 50-100lbs.
    • Certification in rigging, or related skills preferred
    • Experience with integrated building systems, including mixed-material construction.
    • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and aerial lifts.
    • Basic knowledge of construction software for documentation and coordination.

    Working Environment
    • Working conditions for this position will be on project site, locally and possibly out of town
    • Employee must be physically able to perform job duties which may include but not limited to heavy lifting, climbing, and balancing in various weather conditions.
    • Operate at elevated heights with appropriate safety gear and fall protection systems.
