Job description

Ledcor Highway Maintenance provides year-round highway maintenance services under long-term contracts to Alberta's Transportation and Economic Corridors in the Edmonton and Grande Prairie areas. We are seeking Senior Project Managers with the leadership experience and expertise to oversee and support the delivery of critical highway maintenance projects.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of these projects. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within scope and budget, and in alignment with the industry's highest quality and safety standards. In this seniorlevel capacity, you will provide strategic direction, lead crossfunctional teams, optimize operational performance, and contribute to a culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
This role oversees multiple highway maintenance projects with total project durations ranging from three to ten years in various locations and varying levels of complexity across multiple clients and distinct contract requirements. The typical total revenue portfolio for this role is approximately $60M per year, with individual projects values ranging from $5M to $30M per year.
The role typically oversees between three and seven direct reports and interacts closely with the operations teams to facilitate project delivery with dedicated workforces, typically ranging from 20 - 70 craft employees and associated subcontractors and vendors.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Champion and uphold Ledcor's safety-first culture, ensuring all safety and
  • environmental standards are met or exceeded on all project work sites
  • Oversee the project financial health, including project scheduling, budgeting, andresource allocation using industry-standard tools and methodologies
  • Manage project systems, including cost tracking, reporting, and documentation
  • Support the implementation of the Quality Management Program and ensure
  • compliance with internal and external quality specifications and requirements
  • Coordinate with team members to engage subcontractors, suppliers, and internalteams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  • Effective contract execution and change order management
  • Engage with and support labour relations, human resources, and payroll teams withthe application of systems such as Workday and InEight
  • Be a key conduit and primary holder of the client relationship at the project level

Key Considerations and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 (ten) years' experience working in dynamic project manager roles,including construction, services or industrial settings
  • Deep understanding of Health and Safety as a core company value
  • Experienceworking with Canadian Construction Safety Association (CCSA) members would bean asset
  • An engineering, Master of Business Administration, Financial designation or otherrelevant post secondary degree would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of key Project Manager responsibilities
  • Open to relocation to the Edmonton area (relocation packages available)

Leadership:

  • Successful track record of leading teams up to 7 direct reports acrossremote worksites, including employee growth and development,coaching, setting and monitoring performance and expectations
  • Use of formal performance processes would be an asset

Contract Management:

  • Understand, interpret and communicate contract and performancerequirements
  • Use of change management processes, including change orders andscope adjustments
  • Collaboration and escalation processes including demonstratedcommunication strategies to address, mitigate and resolve contractualchallenges or disputes
  • Strong financial acumen, including project estimates, budgets, projectcontracts and forecasting.
  • Use of InEight Software and JDE would behighly beneficial
  • Application and utilization of standard project controls processesincluding quantity tracking, earned value, scheduling (MS Project),accruals and deferrals

Operations:

  • Strong ability to build relationships and support operations across
  • multiple geographically diverse worksites, including summer and
  • winter operations
  • Able to suggest and make recommendations optimized and efficient
  • construction practices to support fiscal performance
  • Highly experienced in project scheduling and subcontract management
  • Highly experienced in change management, including leading and affecting
  • positive change
