Summary
Assistants are needed for our before and after-school care in each of our four elementary schools.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An individual who holds this position must:
- Reinforce student learning and performance.
- Demonstrate commitment to assisting learners in achieving their highest potential.
- Circulate and provide assistance to all students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction, under the direction of a certificated staff member.
- Complete assigned supervision roles of the general student population.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with students and staff.
- Prepare and organize materials to enhance the physical environment, as directed.
- Use strategies as directed to increase the individual student's independence and confidence.
- Participate as directed in meetings, conferences, and discussions; providing input on the present functioning and needs of the students.
- Demonstrate a positive regard for the distinctions between roles and responsibilities of staff members.
- Assist with behavior management strategies.
- Perform responsibilities as directed in a manner consistent with law and policies, to include maintaining student confidentiality.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the diversity of students and families.
- Must use universal precautions and assist in maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment.
- Other duties as assigned by the administrator.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
CPR/First Aid certified
