The Promontory Club is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Conservancy Life GuardPart time or Full time Summer Seasonal.

The Beach House has a beautiful wading pool and lake with a sandy beach. Members can kayak, paddle board and enjoy the outdoors and purchase food and drinks from the Beach Club Restaurant. Lunch will be provided from our Beach House restaurant each day. 

The summer season will range from May through the first week of September. This position will have the ability for top performers to continue their employment with Promontory after the summer season and become full time, permanent employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond quickly, intelligently, and decisively in accordance with Professional Lifeguard and Promontory protocols.
  • Provide surveillance of pool, lake and beach areas for any aquatic related hazards and emergencies.
  • Be alert at all times to prevent accidents by performing surveillance of the Lake areas.  
  • Administer First Aid and CPR as appropriate.
  • Enforce Beach / Pool / Lake rules in a consistent manner keeping safety and the needs of the members first.
  • Ensure daily area cleaning assignments are complete.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is preferred; must have or be able to acquire a Lifeguard, First Aid / AED / CPR Certification within the first two weeks of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One (1) year of previous lifeguarding experience is preferred; excellent oral communication skills; self-motivated with desire to promote; service and customer focused attitude; enthusiastic, outgoing attitude and personality, patient and non-combative; organized and able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing; team player and professional.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees; practice proper and timely communication among the department personnel and keep members satisfied and well informed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to spend time in an outdoor environment in the sun, rain and other conditions; ability to lift 30lbs regularly and the ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally to move objects both horizontally and vertically; must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed

Wages start at $21/hr and will be determined upon employment and will be commensurate with experience.
