Job description

WHO WE ARE

VSC is a team of storytellers, strategists, and data nerds helping Davids beat Goliaths with unfair levels of attention.

We blend PR, content, and creative to turn early-stage startups into vertical market leaders - and we've done it 1,000+ times, unlocking $100B+ in exits and four IPOs.

Our brand work over the years: Windsurf, Groq, Prenuvo, Sequoia Capital India, Mayfield, Tile, Mammoth Biosciences, Outdoorsy, Molekule, Poshmark, PebbleEV, and Fizz, to name a few.

We're looking for an intern who can join us for 30 - 35 hours/week for 12 Weeks (June - August, 2026) in San Francisco/Marin, California where you will be able to work remotely with occasional meetings with partners and the team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Most PR internships are about building media lists and taking notes. This is not that.

We are looking for a builder to spend 90 days rewiring how our agency works. You will partner directly with our leadership to identify the "grunt work" slowing our teams down and build the AI workflows to fix it.

Your goal: Build the tools that help us deliver 2x the results for our clients.

The 90-Day Mission (Your Roadmap):

Instead of random tasks, your summer will be structured into three distinct "Sprints":

  • Month 1: The Audit (The "Shadow" Phase)
    • Embed with 3 different account teams to learn the "VSC Way."
    • Observe the lifecycle of a client campaign: from research to pitch to coverage.
    • Deliverable: Identify the "Top 5 Time Wasters"-the manual, repetitive tasks that are ripe for automation.
  • Month 2: The Build (The "Hacker" Phase)
    • Select the top 3 highest-impact opportunities from your audit.
    • Use our AI stack (Claude, Convey, Perplexity) to build "No-Code" solutions.
    • Example Project: Build a "Meeting-to-Memo" Pipeline that takes a raw transcript and automatically formats it into a client-ready update email using our specific style guide.
    • Deliverable: 3 fully functional "Beta" workflows ready for testing.
  • Month 3: The Rollout (The "Teacher" Phase)
    • Deploy your tools to the wider team.
    • Create simple "Cheat Sheets" or loom videos teaching the staff how to use your new tools.
    • Deliverable: A final presentation to the Partners demonstrating the time saved by your inventions.

The Toolkit You Will Master

You will get hands-on experience with the bleeding edge of Enterprise AI:

  • Convey: You will become the agency expert on this platform, setting up the "pipes" that move information.
  • Claude (Projects & Artifacts): You will build custom "Project" environments that know our clients' brand voices perfectly.
  • The "Glue": You'll learn how to connect these tools so they talk to each other.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • The "Power User": You are the person who uses ChatGPT to plan your travel, summarize your reading, or organize your life. You know that "prompting" is a skill, not a magic trick.
  • Process-Obsessed: You hate inefficiency. If you have to do a task three times, you naturally want to write a script (or find an AI) to do it for you.
  • Communicator: You can explain how to use a tool to someone who isn't technical.
  • Current Student or Recent Grad: Open to all majors-CS, Business, Communications, or Liberal Arts. We care about your curiosity, not your degree.

What You Walk Away With

  • A "Portfolio of Automations": You won't just list "VSC" on your resume; you will list the specific products you built that are now running a real business.
  • Mentorship: Direct access to VSC Partners and exposure to the world of Venture Capital and high-growth startups.

Application Challenge

To apply, don't just send a cover letter. Send us a screenshot of the best AI prompt you've ever written to solve a real-world problem, and explain why it worked.
