Job SummaryThe Student Assistant will support the department of IT Services as a IT Security Support Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Summer 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities- Assists in various IT security projects and performs general administrative tasks as needed
- Collaborates with teams to understand product features and documentation needs
- Creates clear and concise user interface text, online help, guides, and videos
- Develops tutorials to assist users in effectively utilizing various applications
- Provides support on various IT security tasks and projects as assigned, contributing to the overall security of the organization
- Develops and implements scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate security tasks, streamlining data collection and enhancing the team's operational efficiency
- Assists in the development and implementation of security awareness campaigns to promote a culture of security within the organization
- Collaborates with the IT Security team to identify and address user needs related to security awareness and compliance
- Assists with incident response activities as needed, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
Shift Specifics - Up to 25 hours per week
- Flexible with schedule of availability
- Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements - Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Proposed Salary$10.00 per hour
