Job description

Residency in or relocation to Louisiana is preferred for all positions.
The Enterprise Information Management team supports Louisiana Blue's strategic direction to be data and analytics driven by developing and maintaining data definitions, data models, and model blueprints for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The Data Modeler Intern will support team objectives through hands-on project work, mentoring, and exposure to data modeling practices used across the organization.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with creating and maintaining data definitions for EDW tables and views in Erwin under team guidance.
Support updates to logical and physical data models, model diagrams, and DDL documentation for tables and views.
Help gather, document, and analyze data requirements, data flows, and business needs for reporting or feature-development work.
Participate in the creation of solution blueprints for features that require changes or additions to the EDW model.
Assist with basic review of deployment scripts, plans, and documentation to support data model implementation.
Support teams and business areas by researching basic questions related to an EDW subject area.
Contribute to data model design and solutioning for enterprise reporting dashboards.
Collaborate with Business Data Architects, Product Management, DI Architects, and other team members to understand how tables and views are designed to meet business needs.
Participate in training or knowledge-sharing activities related to EDW-specific dimensional modeling and data usage.
Required Qualifications:
Current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing Business, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of SQL scripting through coursework, project work, internships, or related experience.
Basic understanding of database concepts, including tables, views, data relationships, and data modeling principles.
Strong interest in data, analytics, enterprise reporting, information management, or data warehousing.
Cumulative GPA: 3.0 preferred; 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to adapt quickly to change and coordinate activities with others in a team environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Knowledge of SQL, database design, data visualization, or reporting tools is preferred.
Self-motivated, professional, coachable, adaptable to a changing work environment, and team-oriented.
Must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week during Spring and Fall semesters and 25-30 hours per week during Summer.
