Job description

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. We are unique compared to other districts because of the wide variety of exciting and innovative educational options from which families and staff members can choose. All of Lansing School District's team members are dedicated to our mission to provide an excellent education to all students in a safe and nurturing environment.

For summer school, we are looking for a variety of roles (see job posting title). Internal applicants in the aligned bargaining unit will receive preference. For specific details on schedule and programming, reach out to the hiring manager/building administrator.

Equine Center for Learning Barnyard Brainpower - Reading, Writing, and Reflection Summer Camp and Math in Motion Summer Camp for 2nd - 5th grade students. This camp blends academics with hands-on horse activities to help students build confidence before the upcoming school year. Horse activities will be incorporated to keep learning engaging, active, and enjoyable. Students will get hands-on time with horses through a variety of activities. Horse experience is not required but preferred. Staff will be responsible for working with ECL Program Manager and ECL Arena Programming Coordinator to put together lessons curated for students to continue growing in their literacy and math skills in conjunction with HorsePowered reading and math.

Thursday, June 11th 
            1 PM - 3 PM | On-Site Staff Training at ECL
Monday, July 20th - Thursday, July 23rd 
            8 AM - 2 PM | Barnyard Brainpower - Literacy 5th & 6th
Monday, July 27th - Thursday, July 30th 
           8 AM - 2 PM | Barnyard Brainpower - Math 5th & 6th
Monday, August 3rd - Thursday, August 6th
            8 AM - 2 PM | Barnyard Brainpower - Literacy 3rd & 4th
Monday, August 10th - Thursday, August 13th
           8 AM - 2 PM | Barnyard Brainpower - Math 3rd & 4th
*On Summer Camp weeks Thursday is a shorter day
*There is planned prep prior to the start of camp on 7/20/26 and there is prep planned in the week of camp

$36 - $36 an hour
