Job description

Job Description: POS QA Engineer
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing of POS systems in retail or other high-volume transaction environments.
  • Perform Manual, Functional, Integration, System, Regression, End-to-End, and Data-driven testing for POS applications.
  • Design, document, and execute Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Test Cases, while maintaining testing metrics and traceability.
  • Work in Agile environments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Utilize defect tracking tools (JIRA, qTest) for issue management and resolution.
  • Report on test execution results and facilitate bug triage meetings to drive timely resolutions.
  • Provide support during production deployments through critical smoke and sanity testing.
  • Partner with development and delivery teams to improve testability, investigate issues, and resolve defects efficiently.
  • Perform testing in the POS Lab environment, requiring 5 days a week in person at the Phoenix home office.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership by meeting deadlines with accuracy, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Communicate effectively through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Apply analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues and ensure application reliability.
  • Contribute as a collaborative team player, addressing conflicts constructively and working around obstacles to ensure project success.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to UIPath RPA automation or any RPA automation tool
  • Knowledge of testing techniques (white box, black box, performance testing).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as JMeter, Jenkins.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in manual testing of POS applications, preferably in the retail domain.
  • Strong understanding of software testing practices and Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills with a positive, enthusiastic approach.
  • Willingness and ability to work 5 days per week onsite at the home office for POS lab testing.
