Job description

LOCATION: Amphi Corps - 218 E. Prince Road, Tucson, AZ
STATUS: FTT/40 Hours - Employment available 6/19/26 - 7/24/26

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in working & relating well with young people & adults
  • Ability to follow office procedures as directed by the Corps Officer/ Program Director
  • Experience & ability to organize and lead group activities, games, and crafts
  • Willingness to learn and expand upon experience and knowledge
  • Complete The Salvation Army's Protecting the Mission training upon hire
  • Successful background clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide supervision for summer day camp youth participants
  • Provide leadership and preparation for assigned tasks, which may include organized sports and/or games, crowd breaker games, chapel services, crafts, skits, song leading, etc.
  • Provide supervision during all field trips
  • Participate in all Summer Day Camp Activities
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving of the meals
  • Assist with facility upkeep and cleaning as it pertains to the Summer Day Camp Program
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks within the time frame requested.
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards.
  • Participate in staff orientation meetings, "child safety training", and staff informational meetings
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor as they relate to the position of Summer Day Camp Counselor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
