Engineering InternPosition Summary

The Engineering Intern is responsible for assisting with basic engineering problem solving, building systems design, and the preparation of technical project documents. Under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers, this role provides hands-on exposure to engineering design, drafting, project coordination, and professional development activities.

Internship will run from 5/24/27-8/6/27

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngineering Design
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with the design of engineering systems under direct supervision.
  • Ask questions and seek guidance when completing unfamiliar tasks.
  • Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Assist in the preparation and modification of reports, plans, and project designs.
  • Organize and maintain project materials, references, and documentation.
  • Assist with the selection of basic equipment and system components.
  • Coordinate activities and project information with other disciplines.
Drafting and Documentation
  • Produce construction documents and supporting project documentation as required.
  • Maintain and expand proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Support drafting and modeling efforts for engineering projects.
Learning and Development
  • Continuously identify and address gaps in engineering knowledge.
  • Research and apply Henderson design guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide general project and administrative support as needed.
  • Attend technical and production-focused training sessions.
  • Participate in internship meetings, training programs, and company-sponsored activities.

QualificationsRequired Education

Preferred Experience
  • Coursework in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or other Computer-Aided Drafting software.
  • Drafting certification.
  • Previous internship experience.
  • Practical experience in building systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
