Your role.

You'll work with our team assisting a diverse range of clients, including businesses, individuals, estates, trusts, and family offices with their real estate valuation and analytics needs including financial reporting, tax planning and compliance, shareholder planning estate and wealth transfer strategies, and other advisory matters. In addition to the real estate valuation team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other consulting teams at Plante Moran, including transaction advisory services and risk advisory & accounting services. We'll give you the flexibility to craft real estate solutions that address complex client challenges, not just spreadsheets.

You can look forward to:

  • Preparing real estate appraisals on a variety of property types, including but not limited to residential, multifamily, industrial, retail, hotel, skilled nursing facilities, and land, among others
  • Assisting with appraisals of large complex transactions
  • Researching market and property data from a variety of databases
  • Problem-solving to assist in client consultation and valuation
  • Reviewing valuations for audit and tax clients

You would participate in all phases of engagement including, but not limited to:

  • Interviewing clients, including face-to-face meetings, and attending site inspections to gather data and information pertinent to the assignment
  • Researching industry value drivers, including market, competitor and property information
  • Financial modeling, including discounted cash flows
  • Developing all facets of the appraisals, including the cost, sales comparison and income capitalization approaches to value
  • Assisting in developing valuation reports from start to finish and communicating conclusions to clients

Delivering results to clients across a diverse range of industries and ownership structures, including but not limited to:

  • Private Equity and Investment Funds
  • Real Estate Owners, Developers, and Investors
  • Family Offices, Estates, and High-Net-Worth Individuals

The qualifications.

  • Detail-oriented leader with problem-solving, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, client-service environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as autonomously
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Interest in real estate, market analysis, and consulting
  • Ability to think critically and apply data-driven insights to solve complex client challenges
  • Excellent skill sets in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in real estate, finance or economics, or related field
  • Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.
