Summary
The Information Security Systems Engineer is a key member of the Information Security Practice at Abacus Technologies, responsible for delivering cutting-edge security solutions to protect organizational and client assets. This role blends technical expertise, client consulting, and project execution to address evolving security needs in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a passion for helping clients achieve a secure and resilient infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Security Architecture & Design: Develop and implement security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, and secure access controls.
  • Client Advisory & Consulting: Engage with clients to understand their security needs, provide tailored recommendations, and develop actionable security roadmaps.
  • Project Execution: Plan and deliver security-focused projects, ensuring timely and successful implementation of solutions that align with client objectives.
  • Threat Analysis & Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Incident Response: Lead and support the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Configure and manage security monitoring tools, analyze logs, and produce detailed reports for internal and client use to maintain a robust security posture.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including security engineering, client advisory, or consulting roles.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption, network architecture, and secure coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security). Familiarity with cloud security platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience in penetration testing, incident response, forensic investigations
