Job description
Provides prompt, courteous, and professional beverage service to guests at Cliche Cigar Lounge at Harrah's Lake Tahoe while adhering to all department service standards, bar policies, and responsible alcohol service guidelines. Maintains a strong knowledge of premium cigars, including cigar varieties, flavor profiles, origins, proper cutting and lighting techniques, and beverage pairings, allowing for informed recommendations that enhance the overall guest experience. Creates a welcoming, upscale atmosphere through attentive service, product knowledge, and personalized guest interactions.

- High School graduate preferred
- At least 2 years of prior fine dining bar experience as a bartender and use of POS systems
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Literacy and fluency in English
- Above average communication and interactive skills
- Excellent guest service skills
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to carry orders and lift trays weighing up to 60 lbs
- Mobility to move around the station quickly
- Ability to stand for 8 hours
- Ability to grasp, finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination
- Ability to hear and use visual inspection
- Ability to bend, squat, reach and climb stairs
- Must be able and willing to work in an environment where cigar and tobacco smoke is present for extended periods of time.
- Must be comfortable working in a smoking permitted lounge atmosphere and able to perform all essential job functions while exposed to moderate levels of cigar and tobacco smoke.
- Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
Provides fast, efficient, courteous, and professional beverage service to guests in accordance with departmental service standards and company policies.
Ensures the bar is properly stocked with liquor, cigars, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other necessary supplies; assists with inventory counts and monthly ending inventories as assigned.
Prepares and serves beverages according to established recipes, presentation standards, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
Adheres to department policies regarding beverage service, including the number of drinks served at one time and guest eligibility requirements.
Accurately records and rings all beverage sales into the point-of-sale system following established cash handling and transactional procedures.
Accounts for assigned bank, balances all transactions, and maintains accuracy in all cash and credit card transactions throughout the shift.
Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including the bar, lounge, storage, and service areas, in accordance with health, safety, and departmental standards.
Stays informed of new beverage offerings, promotions, specialty events, and lounge programs to effectively communicate and promote them to guests.
Reads, understands, and acknowledges all departmental communications, policies, and procedural updates.
Maintains familiarity with food offerings and preparation times to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
Demonstrates a commitment to exceptional guest service by creating a welcoming, engaging, and upscale lounge experience through positive interactions and effective communication.
Maintains knowledge of premium cigars, including brands, origins, flavor profiles, cutting and lighting techniques, storage requirements, and beverage pairings, enabling informed recommendations and an enhanced guest experience at Cliche Cigar Lounge at Harrah's Lake Tahoe.
Follows all company, departmental, safety, and regulatory requirements while contributing to a professional and guest-focused environment.
