SEASONALITY

This is a Seasonal position.

The position is expected to be available during the summer pool season only which is the months of June through August/early September.

Work will not be available upon conclusion of the summer pool season, for this role. Work may be available in another role upon inquiry.


JOB SUMMARY:

Pool Deck Attendants greet all members and guests and enforce pool rules to ensure that they have an enjoyable time in the pool area. This position is responsible for monitoring the pool area and must maintain clean and safe environment for all members and guests using the pool and surrounding area. For clubs offering a food cart, this position will be responsible for preparing and serving food, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean, sanitary food cart environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensure the safety, satisfaction, and entertainment of members and guests by providing exceptional customer service
  • Monitor and implement club pool rules at all times
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of the pool deck areas by conducting operational audit walkthroughs throughout the day
  • Interact positively and professionally with members, guests and other team members
  • Conduct locker room checks and other actions to ensure a clean club
  • During down times, clean and straighten pool deck furniture and any pool equipment
  • Follow all health and safety requirements
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • During the season, where applicable, monitor the pool slide as needed and implement slide rules at all times
  • During the season, where applicable, prepare and serve food, handle transactions, and maintain a clean, sanitary food cart environment
  • Greet food cart customers, explain menu options, and handle customer inquiries efficiently
  • Assemble, heat, or prepare menu items according to standardized recipes and food safety regulations
  • Sanitize food cart surfaces, wash utensils, dispose of trash, and thoroughly clean the cart at the opening and closing of each shift
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – WHO YOU ARE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Current CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire date
  • Water safety and general swim experience preferred
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Work quality must be accurate, timely, and in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, cooperation, and ability to work well with all parties
  • Maintaining focus in a sometimes hectic and evolving environment
  • High regard and propensity for safety
  • Willing and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Passion for fitness/health/wellness
  • First Aid Training, required only at clubs with pool slides
  • Food Handler Card, required only at clubs with food carts

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk, stand, and move throughout club facilities and outdoor areas for up to 8 hours per day, and may also sit for extended periods for planning and administrative work. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, pool chemicals, dust, noise, temperature fluctuations (hot and cold environments), and airborne particles, and will be required to wear designated personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.

Team members are frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools and equipment; reach, push, and pull with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to bend and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds, will often be required to lift, carry, or move 26–50 pounds.
