Job description

Tutor Doctor Charlotte is a locally owned tutoring company that has proudly served our community for over 8 years. We are currently seeking Reading Tutors who can support students at the elementary and middle school levels. This is a summer time role for 6 weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday for multiple hours each day. We are creating the program so all yo have to bring is your experience, passion and energy to support these students in need of basic support.
This position is ideal for educators and tutors who are bilingual or proficient in Spanish although it is not a necessity. . This role may offer 4 to 10 hours a week of support in Huntersville, NC. and is an In Person role, not virtual. Please do not apply if you cannot get to Huntersville location to support.
Responsibilities
  • Provide small group tutoring/teaching in phonics, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and conversation
  • Customize instruction based on each student's learning style and academic goals
  • Reinforce classroom learning and build student confidence
  • Complete session notes and progress reports in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in supporting Reading
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience. (teaching certifications)
  • Ability to tutor one or more additional subjects strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in education, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with K-12 students
  • Reliable transportation for in-school tutoring sessions
