Job description

Overview

On the road and in the field, Davis, Bowen & Friedel’s surveyors are always hard at work. Often the first individuals on site, surveyors play an integral role of the planning and design process. They are responsible for recording measurements on a wide range of terrain for various properties. Our architects and engineers use their measurements to design buildings and develop sites safely and accurately.

The ideal candidate must be physically able to work outdoors in all terrain and weather conditions on job sites on a daily basis. They must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way acquisition, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the party chief and crew with boundary, topographic and construction surveys.
  • Equipment set-up and operation.
  • Carry out instruction and tasks assigned by licensed surveyor.
  • Layout stakes for map-making.


Education & Skills

The preferred applicant shall possess a high school diploma or GED. Previous surveying experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
