Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Targa Resources Corp. has an immediate opportunity for an ESH Technician - LDAR with the Compliance Service Team. This position will be responsible for optical gas imaging (OGI) camera surveys and record keeping. This position will conduct camera surveys at Targa facilities in accordance with applicable environmental regulations, maintain associated compliance records, and perform follow up inspections. In addition, this position will conduct LDAR reviews as requested, review records and compliance documents, and be knowledgeable in gathering and boosting and gas processing process. This position is located in Midland or Odessa, TX and will report to the ES&H Supervisor. This position will travel 10-20% of the time.
JOB DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform camera inspections at designated Targa facilities.
  • Work closely with maintenance and operations staff on scheduling and inspections of facilities.
  • Perform first attempts at repair on certain leaking components.
  • Work with Targa's data management program to record compliance data and schedule surveys and leaks.
  • Review of Leak Detection and Repair data and reports.
  • Maintain required documentation and files.
  • Review reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Completes work in a timely manner.
  • Assist Operations and Maintenance with Leak Detection activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned within the Compliance Team (such as engine testing).
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team.
  • 1 years of field operations, mechanical, Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), or engine testing experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, Outlook and others.
  • Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and operate a man-lift.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex)
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in natural gas gathering and processing.
  • Experience with Leak Detection and Repair programs.
  • Experience with Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) and OGI Certification.
  • Experience working in Maximo, LeakTracker Pro, or other LDAR database.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience reviewing air permits.
