Job description

Days & Hours: Various Shifts , mostly mornings / early afternoons. Shifts are 3-4 hours in length / day
Starting at: $15.00 per hour
If you are someone who thrives off of being on stage and sharing talents, this may be the perfect position for you! Act in a skit, perform animated readings , music and dance talents are also welcomed. Professional experience not required. You will work within the team to develop content for performances. Practices / rehearsal time is paid as well.. This ia a very flexible role.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Pirate's Cove Manager, Characters will assume duties in implementing daily stage shows and interactive activities throughout Pirates' Cove.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform all duties as directed by Park Manager or Theme Park Coordinator.
  • Within a group, develop and implement stage shows, improv skits, games, activities and other interactive programs for young children ages one-nine.
  • Greet customers and encourage children to join in the fun.
  • Daily communication with supervisors.
  • Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
  • Be familiar with the safe operation and storage of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
  • Familiar and trained in the safe operation of any park equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the park and organization of the costume room.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Able to demonstrate maturity in dealing with the general public in matters of public safety.
  • Ability to work around the general public and park team in a safe, professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to be creative with limited resources/materials.
  • Congeniality, outgoing personality and desire to work with children.
  • Display professionalism when working unsupervised.
  • Display enthusiasm and a willingness to motivate children to join park activities.
  • Must be acquainted with the district's customer service policies.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Comfortable with using microphones and sound equipment or ability to learn.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must be at least 16 years of age. 15 years of age may be approved by Pirates' Cove Manager. Staff will not be able to support rides until 16 years of age.
  • Helpful experience includes the knowledge of a variety of games, crafts and the ability to facilitate activities.
  • Experience leading children's activities.
  • Acting experience preferred.
