Job description

Position Title: Diesel-Oil Field Technician
Reporting to: Service Manager
Department: Service
Central Power Systems & Services is a privately held company with deep roots going back to 1954.

JOB SUMMARY
The Diesel-Oil Field Technician is responsible for on-site oil field maintenance and repairs of engines, blenders, frac pumps, etc. as directed by the Service Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform service and maintenance on all oil field machinery and equipment
  • Use of OEM diagnostic software to perform repairs in line with dealer and manufacturer specifications
  • In-depth repair of engines, heavy machinery, pumps and drilling equipment
  • Field Troubleshooting: Responding to on-site equipment breakdowns, diagnosing failures, and executing repairs in the field
  • Preventative Maintenance: Performing oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and brake adjustments on machinery
  • Clock on to work orders
  • Inspect, operate and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities and conformance to customer specifications
  • Performs repairs as directed by the Service Manager
  • Complete all timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs
  • Complete all paperwork necessary to perform repairs as directed
  • Maintain orderly company issued service truck
  • Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED required. A technical school certificate in related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Welding/Fabrication preferred
  • Valid driver's license to be maintained prior to and throughout employment
  • Experience in the maintenance/repair of Cummins, CAT, MTU engines
  • Experience in the maintenance/repair of blenders and frac pumps
  • A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Ability to consistently repair components and equipment in line with dealer and manufacturer standards
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Commitment to maintaining an orderly and safe working environment

WORK CONDITIONS
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
