Job description

Golf School District 67 is seeking an industrious and reliable Summer Custodian to help maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities across our district. In this seasonal role, you will perform deep cleaning, complete minor repairs, and configure setups for events to minimize property damage and maintain an optimal environment, supporting our district-wide mission: "Learning Today... Leading Tomorrow"

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Location: Districtwide
  • Classification: Educational Support Personnel | Non-Union

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: Job-related experience is desired but not required. ย 
  • Clearances: Must pass a pre-employment medical examination. ย 
  • Skills & Equipment: Competency in operating common tools and industrial maintenance equipment (including electrical cleaning gear) with strict adherence to safety practices. ย

  • Literacy & Math: Ability to understand multi-step instructions, complete basic math calculations (fractions, percentages, ratios) , write routine documents, and communicate clearly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facility Deep Cleaning & Upkeep: Clean, sanitize, and inspect assigned classrooms, offices, restrooms, and grounds to ensure an attractive, safe, and operational environment across the district.
  • Site Operations & Security: Prepare facilities for daily operations, secure buildings and grounds at the end of shifts, and respond to immediate safety or operational concerns to minimize property damage and liability.
  • Event Setups & Logistics: Arrange furniture, furnishings, and specialized equipment for meetings, classroom activities, and special events, while coordinating the distribution of district supplies, materials, and mail.
  • Minor Repairs & Maintenance: Execute minor facility repairs and preventative maintenance taskssuch as assembling furniture, changing ballasts or ceiling tiles, and performing minor plumbing, lock, or filter adjustments.
  • Operational Support & Compliance: Assist team members with seasonal special projects, complete employer-required safety and compliance trainings, and provide direction or oversight to visitors or assigned students.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT

  • Settings: Active indoor and outdoor physical labor across various school and district office environments. ย 
  • Mobility: Ability to move freely across multiple locations involving regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. ย 
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent reaching, handling of tools, and operating industrial cleaning machinery. ย 
  • Lifting Demands: Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or push physical objects weighing up to 50 pounds. ย 
  • Vision Standards: Requires strong close vision, distance vision, and focal adjustment to handle detail-oriented facility maintenance safely.
