Job Description
Responsible for teaching online courses and assessing learning outcomes in Physics or Physical Science. Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service. Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.
This is a pool to collect applications and resumes in search for online instructors to teach part-time for Spring and Summer courses in 2026.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for Physics: Masters Degree with at least 12 credits in combined fields Physics, Engineering, Math and/or Science Education.
Minimum Qualifications for Physical Science: Masters Degree with at least 12 credits in combined fields Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, Chemistry, Earth Science Math and/or Science Education.
Previous Community College teaching or training experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Community college teaching experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of technology-based instructional tools is highly preferred. Ability to teach in on-line and/or hybrid environments is desired.
Physical Demands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The teacher must see and hear on a continuous basis as well as speak frequently.
Salary
$2100 per course for 3 credit Hr. course
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in accordance with outcomes identified in the established course development model. Teaching assignments may include varying delivery formats and methods.
  • Collaborate in the development and revision of curriculum as needed.
  • Meet promptly with scheduled classes.
  • Assure that student outcomes are achieved in each course.
  • Evaluate and record student performance and achievement on a regular basis and provide regular student feedback.
  • Refer students to Academic Support and Student Services as needed and meet recommended student/instructional accommodations as required.
  • Develop and administer assessment instruments to validate student outcome achievement.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, progress and grade records of all students.
  • Effectively plan and implement learning strategies appropriate for meeting student outcomes.
  • Analyze results of planning and teaching and make appropriate revisions.
  • Maintain currency of professional skills to continually enhance instructional skills.
  • Is committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of students and internal/external stakeholders.
