Job description


POSITION: Summer Literacy and Math School Teacher, Elementary - 6 FTE 
SALARY RANGE:  $35.00 per hour, approximately 8 am-12:30 pm, two weeks, 05-26/05-29 and 06-01/06-04

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- 








  • Collaboration with Program Administrator, grade level teachers, and specialists (ELD and SPED) - devising lesson plans that incorporate hands-on, project-based learning opportunities for students, which incorporate reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking
  • Focus heavily on skill areas of math and ELA, while incorporating science and social studies content into lessons
  • Collaboratively reflecting and planning for 30 minutes at the end of each day with grade-level colleagues
  • Formatively assess each student and record growth data throughout the Summer Program to measure student progress and the success of the Program
  • Effectively communicate with parents (in their preferred language), students, program administrators, and colleagues
  • Devise a materials list with colleagues and the program administrator before the program begins, so materials can be ordered/purchased in time for the Summer Program session


QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  • Minimum B. A. or B. S. in Elementary Education.
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Colorado Teachers' Certificate/License in Elementary Education from the Colorado Department of Education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Colorado standards and assessments and the ability to facilitate data-driven instruction and the standards-based classroom.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure student academic success/experience in a primary grade level classroom.
  • Strong background in integrating the teaching of reading and writing, and math problem-solving skills.
  • Computer and Technology skills preferred.
  • Able to work as a team member,/experience with data-driven instruction preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations. Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Need Teachers of Grade Levels K-5
