Job Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:

  • Able to operate a variety of machine tools (i.e. Tig/Mig /Arc Welders, lathes, milling machines, etc.)
  • Verify conformance of machines or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments.
  • Troubleshoot for problems during production.
  • Able to set up appropriate tools in the department.
  • Follow safe work practices and company work procedures at all times.
  • Assure work performed complies with QS9000 standards.
  • Maintain tooling Quality STD's and Preventative/ Predictive Maintenance program to ensure compliance with QS9000 Requirements.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two years college or technical school or 5 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of a 4-year Tool & Die apprenticeship program.

WORK EXPERIENCE/ TECHNICAL TRAINING:

  • Tool and Die Maker with related experience/familiar with assembly tooling work.
  • Good hand dexterity, mechanical skills, mathematical skills and organizational skills.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience with assembly tooling with minimum 5 years of specializing with new assembly tool construction and robot tooling.
  • Hemming die or clinch tool experience is a must. Metrology experience is required including exposure to and using master-buck tooling.
