Job description

Summer Acceleration, 2nd-4th Grade - ELA/Math (multiple positions available)

  • Licensure: Proper IL Licensure including Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Dates: All classes take place Monday-Thursday from June 1-25, 2026 unless otherwise noted.
  • Hours:  
    • K-4th grade teacher hours: 7:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
  • Pay: $47.95/hr.
    • Per ETC: Rate per hour based on direct student contact teaching time + 20 minutes per day plan time x hourly rate x number of days of program
  • Program Locations:
    • Edison Elementary School
      • K-1st Grade Programs
    • Field Elementary School
      • 2nd-4th Grade Programs
    • York High School
      • 5th-7th Grade Programs
  • Training/Preparation: Eight (8) additional paid hours for program training and preparation on May 27 and 28, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. 

The summer programs teacher selection process will follow Section 4.22 of the ETC contract: 

  1. Primary consideration shall be given to qualified and experienced Teachers in the subject or grade level.
  2. Teachers currently employed in District 205 shall be given preference over out-of-District applicants.
  3. When all other facts are equal, assignments shall be given on a rotating basis. Vacancies for summer school positions shall be posted on line as soon as possible prior to the first day of summer school. Applicants must reapply for summer school positions each year.
