Job description

Position Description
A student enrolled in an institution of higher education other than Texas Tech University or Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center employed to perform work as assigned by the supervisor.
Major/Essential Functions
The Student Assistant positions will be for the summer only, with a start date of June 1st 2026 and an end date of August 31 2026.
Position tasks are:
  • Work closely with other team members to support the maintenance and development of collaborative research efforts with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support research activities, including survey development, data collection, and data analysis, under the direction of TTMHI team members
  • Assist with the development and management of accurate project databases, computer and manual filing systems and any project records or files
  • Engage in academic writing and editing for research efforts, including but not limited to data dissemination, reporting, teaching materials, and grants
  • Maintain a desk manual with written procedures to meet the expectations of this position
  • Participate in regular team meetings and provide support for large-scale projects led by other team members

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.

Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required.
