Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Henderson Library as an IT Helpdesk Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Summer 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Maintains Student Technology Fee funded printers in Henderson Library
  • Assists walk-up, library chat, and phone patrons with basic technical support of Windows and Mac computers, printers, microfilm readers, scanners, and all related software
  • Helps direct patrons to the proper Library department for their needs
  • Maintains 3D printers and 3D Print requests
  • Assists Library IT department with tasks
  • Works to maintain the appearance of computer labs by pushing in chairs and picking up trash
  • Monitors and reports facility issues to the supervisor
  • Records statistics for departments as needed

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Must be able to work nights until 10 PM and weekends if needed

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$7.25 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
