Are marine science and conservation important to you?
Do you want to lead, mentor, and inspire both students and fellow educators to create lasting positive change?

We are a team of passionate scientists and educators dedicated to fostering a love for marine science and conservation in future generations. New Logic Marine Science Camp is seeking enthusiastic, experienced individuals to serve as Lead Scientists for Summer 2026. Lead Scientists play a critical role in delivering high-quality programming, mentoring staff, and creating a safe, exciting, and engaging outdoor learning environment for campers and families alike.

Join our team for an unforgettable summer of hands-on science, leadership, and outdoor education!

Availability:

  • Programs run from mid-June through early September.

  • Required participation for the entire duration of the program, typically Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–2:00 pm.

  • Applicants must be available through mid to late August.

  • Note: We are unable to provide housing at this time.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons, activities, and discussions focused on marine science and conservation.

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and advise Support Staff and Interns, ensuring strong teamwork and professional growth.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, communicating directly with families and camp management.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and exciting learning environment for campers of varying ages and abilities.

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all participants throughout the program.

  • Adapt programming and leadership approach to varying outdoor settings and group dynamics.

  • Model professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong leadership for staff and campers.

  • Collaborate closely with camp management to ensure program goals and expectations are met.


Qualifications:

  • Strong passion for marine science, conservation, and environmental education.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in marine science, biology, education, environmental science, or a closely related field.

  • Prior experience teaching, mentoring, leading programs, or supervising staff preferred.

  • Comfortable leading programs in outdoor, hands-on environments.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided if needed).
