As the Senior Coordinator: Student Recruitment, you will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment for law students, entry level associates, transactional law fellows, and judicial law clerks for the Washington, DC and Charlotte offices.  You will collaborate closely with the US student recruitment team, the student recruitment manager, office hiring partners, local recruitment committees, and other stakeholders on coordinating and executing the best-in-class student recruitment and summer associate programs while ensuring we continue to attract strong candidates and enhance our reputation as a top-tier law firm on-campus.  In addition, you will coordinate the local summer associate programs and provide additional support for US student recruitment initiatives and projects as well.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:   

  • Coordinates law student recruitment logistics, including interfacing and communicating with law students, coordinating and attending campus engagement programs and events, tracking candidate pipeline and engagement efforts, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, tracking candidate evaluations and statistics, preparing candidate information packets and offers, and participating in hiring committee meetings. Schedules and coordinates materials for local hiring committee meetings
  • Coordinates and helps manage the local offices' Summer Associate Program, including pre-arrival and onboarding/offboarding logistics, orientation, trainings and events, mentoring program, and supporting the work assignment, performance feedback, and offer decisions processes. Collaborates with Student Recruitment Manager on planning and execution of logistics
  • Facilitates the selection of venues and handling of vendor contracts within budget parameters. Monitors expenses against the summer program events budget
  • Tracks summer program event RSVPs and attends summer associate events and programming
  • Processes local student recruitment and summer program invoices
  • Assists US counterparts and leaders on national student recruitment programming and projects where needed
  • Builds local relationships with law schools, including participation in sponsorships, events and other initiatives to raise the Firm's visibility on-campus
  • Organizes data compilation and report generation as requested
  • Coordinates interviewer materials and materials such as advertisements, brochures and gifts; updates job postings where appropriate
  • Coordinates the planning and hiring of 3L/entry-level students and post-judicial clerkship hires
  • Ensures timely and accurate data entry in recruiting systems for applicant tracking
  • Assists firm's participation in student recruitment surveys and directories
  • Maintains candidate and summer associate files, documents, and reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm hiring goals and objectives
  • Serves as a member of local legal recruitment organizations
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

Education/Training/Certifications:      

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recruiting, human resources, and/or event experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a legal or business services setting, preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with applicant tracking software and AI tools, preferred; knowledge of software tools such as LawCruit, FloRecruit, and/or ViDesktop a plus
  • Experience with virtual technology and social media platforms preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment locally and across offices and proactively support the needs of the Firm
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work overtime especially during the peak recruiting season and during the summer program to perform essential duties
  • Ability to travel periodically based on business needs
