Position Details

The Office of Admissions at The University of Tampa is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated International Admissions Counselor to join our admission team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in recruiting and advising prospective students for both undergraduate and graduate programs. The position reports to the Assistant VP for International Enrollment.

Responsibilities

1. Recruitment: Actively engage with international prospective students through various channels to promote undergraduate and graduate programs. Assist with research and development of the international marketing strategy and implement-approved plans in coordination with the Assistant VP for International Enrollment.

2. Advisory Services: Provide comprehensive guidance to prospective students regarding admission requirements, application procedures, and academic programs.

3. Application Processing: Manage and process international student applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with admission standards.

4. Collaboration: Collaborate with academic departments and other stakeholders to stay informed about program offerings and changes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for applicants.

5. Events and Outreach: Represent the institution at international events, fairs, and educational exhibitions to promote our programs and establish partnerships.

6. Counseling: Offer support and counseling to international students, addressing queries related to admissions, academic requirements, and campus life. Serve as a liaison between the Office of International Student Services and international student applicants and their families.

7. Other duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned during the annual admission cycle.
8. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office products and web applications required.
3. Extensive international travel required, both domestic and internationally (approximately 50%).
4. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license and passport.
5. Possess or quickly develop a thorough knowledge of SEVIS, knowledge of F1 and J1 visa regulations, and general knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
6. Strong knowledge of admission processes and academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
9. Familiarity with diverse cultural backgrounds and an understanding of international education systems.
10. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.

11. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
