Now hiring for end of summer and fall opportunities.

As a Go Ape Outdoor Adventure Guide, you will be primarily responsible for instructing participants how to navigate our treetop adventure courses as well as other ground-based outdoor recreation activities. You will engage with guests of all ages and backgrounds, providing safety instructions, facilitating challenges, and offering encouragement to ensure an exciting and memorable experience. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining safety standards, and promoting an environment of fun and adventure.

Health & Safety

  • Conduct pre-course safety briefings, demonstrating proper usage of safety equipment and protocols.
  • Monitor participants while they navigate through treetop obstacles, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
  • React promptly and effectively to any safety concerns or emergencies, providing assistance and support when necessary.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to guarantee its safety and functionality.

Guest Engagement

  • Welcome and engage with participants, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for all guests.
  • Instruct participants on proper techniques for navigating zip lines and treetop obstacles, as well as other ground-based activities (axe throwing, nets course, outdoor escape room).
  • Encourage and motivate individuals to overcome challenges, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Assist participants who may be hesitant or facing difficulties, ensuring their confidence and enjoyment throughout the course.
  • Celebrate with guests after the completion of their adventure, encouraging and escalating feedback, awarding return incentives, and promoting merchandise.

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing questions, concerns, and inquiries from participants.
  • Offer helpful recommendations and tips to enhance the participants' experience.
  • Ensure participants adhere to Go Ape policies and procedures, maintaining a respectful and enjoyable atmosphere for all.

Course Maintenance:

  • Participate in regular course inspections and maintenance activities to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding course elements, equipment, or facilities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in general site maintenance and cleanliness to uphold Go Ape's high standards.

What are the requirements to be an Outdoor Adventure Guide?

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.
  • No prior experience necessary, but previous customer service, guest service, instructive, teaching, safety, or recreation experience is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups of participants.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with composure.
  • Undergo and successfully complete Go Ape Adventure Guide and Internal First Aid training
  • A passion for the outdoors, adventure, and fostering a sense of community through shared experiences!

What are the physical requirements to be an Outdoor Adventure Guide?

All Outdoor Adventure Guides must have the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Navigate uneven terrain
  • Meet our guest participation requirements and physically navigate Go Ape activities
  • Able to perform all job duties with or without reasonable accommodations
