Description:

Job Objective: To assist in the maintenance of campus grounds to enhance the safety and beauty of campus grounds, gardens, walkways, roads, and athletic fields.


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain parking areas, roadways, walkways, and campus grounds by repairing potholes and cracks, surfaces, mowing grass in summer, and performing snow and ice removal—including plowing and salting—during winter.
  2. Demonstrated ability to recommend, select, install, and maintain appropriate plant materials for various campus locations in order to enhance aesthetic appeal, minimize maintenance requirements, and create an inviting and welcoming environment.
  3. Plants trees, and shrubs, and is competent in the care and pruning required to maintain healthy plants.
  4. Regularly inspect plants, trees, and shrubs to identify potential pest issues—including insects, diseases, and weeds—early, before they become difficult to manage.
  5. Ability to proficiently operate tractors, trucks, mowers, chainsaws, string trimmer, backhoe, loaders, forklift, and any other equipment needed to perform duties assigned.
  6. Collects and removes litter and garbage on campus as needed.
  7. Keep interest current by attending trade shows, conferences, and visiting other campuses.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
The approved rate of pay for this position is $22 hourly.Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience.Requirements:
