Job description

We are hiring for Clubs located in Healdsburg, Cloverdale, Geyserville, Santa Rosa, Roseland, Rohnert Park.
At Boys & Girls Clubs we do whatever it takes to ensure all kids are on a path towards a Great Future, even in the summer. We provide kids with safe and fun summer experiences that give them the confidence to learn, explore, grow, and discover their passion. Through exciting educational and recreational activities, guest speakers, challenges, art, and more, campers will learn some of life’s most necessary skills like resiliency, positivity, adaptability, relationship building, and caring for others.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Program Coordinators work directly with Members, Monday through Friday, PM shifts. Position may include overseeing a  group with up to 20 Members. Also includes preparing and implementing camp programs. The ideal candidate is fun, patient and enjoys working with youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION - Using the Youth Development Strategy & Formula for Impact Assessment, implements programs to meet the organization’s mission. Utilizes programs developed locally and by Boys & Girls Clubs of America to create a fun environment for Club Members to feel a sense of belonging, usefulness, competence, and influence during the summer months. Youth Development Programming in five core areas including Education & Career Development; Fine Arts; Sports, Fitness & Recreation; Health & Life Skills and Character & Leadership Development. Keeps records of program participation as directed. Works in a ratio of 20:1 staff.
  • ROLE MODEL – Believes in the ability of every youth to succeed & expresses it to Members. Through role modeling and youth group management, create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, (Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character.) Always maintain enthusiasm and a positive attitude with youth and within the Club community. Conveys warmth, care & proper guidance in ongoing interactions with Members.
  • COMMUNICATION – Actively participates in daily and weekly Club communication with co-workers, supervisors, and volunteers.
  • SAFETY - Maintains a safe, clean environment. Follows Club policies and common sense to ensure proper use and maintenance of Club equipment and property. Ensures safety of members at all times by proper supervision.
  • DISCIPLINE - Utilizes appropriate discipline to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members. Encourages Members to take responsibility for their good behavior and reinforces high behavior expectations at all times.
  • FACILITY MANAGEMENT – Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and appealing Club facility and program area.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
May operate the Child Nutrition Program:
  • Serving meals to Members.
  • Supervision of Members during meal service time.
  • Display of civil rights poster and menu at the service location.
  • Counting meals and recording the information per CACFP requirements.
  • Completion of the meal order form.
  • Collection of menu production records and transport records.
  • Submission of meal count form, meal order form, menu production records, and transport records to CNP Manager.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
  • At least age 18.
  • Experience with youth in a Boys & Girls Club or similar program preferred.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
