Salary: $13.00 - $16.00 Hourly

Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, the Recreation Coordinator II will:

* Plan, organize, and oversee daily activities for children ages 5 to 12 years .

* Lead a variety of activities including group games, team sports, arts and crafts, academics, science projects, field trips, and special events

* Maintain a safe, engaging, and well-supervised environment at assigned park locations

* Actively interact and participate with program attendees

* Manage and monitor the use of program equipment (e.g., bats, balls, games, and craft supplies)

* Complete required record keeping, including attendance, incident reports, equipment tracking, supply requests, and evaluations

* Collaborate with summer playground staff, recreation personnel, and other city employees

JOB TRAINING SCHEDULE: May 26-29, 2026 (Required)

WORK SCHEDULE: June 1 - August 6, 2026, Monday-Thursday; 11:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Experience in organizing arts and crafts, sports, academics, and both active and passive games

Strong knowledge of supervision techniques for youth ages 5-12

Education in Family and Human Development, Parks and Recreation, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with the public and team members

Ability to maintain focus and apply sound judgement in a dynamic environment

Moderate physical activity required

Must possess or be able to obtain First aid and CPR certification
