Job Title: Texas ACE / 21st CCLC Project Director (Program Director)

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide executive leadership for the planning, implementation, fiscal administration, compliance, evaluation, and sustainability of Project EMBRACE across seven RYSS ACE centers. The Director translates the approved grant application, budget, Texas ACE Blueprint, GPRA measures, and district/campus improvement priorities into consistent, safe, high-quality afterschool, summer, and family programming. The Director supervises grant-funded staff, manages partner performance, coordinates public resources, ensures timely state and federal reporting, and uses evaluation data to improve academics, attendance, behavior, family engagement, and student wellbeing. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education / Certification 

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, public administration, nonprofit management, social work, business, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
• Texas educator certification or recognized credential in education/youth development preferred.
• Clear and valid Texas driver's license; ability to travel among RYSS campuses and partner sites.
• Must satisfy all criminal history, fingerprinting, and other screening requirements applicable to school personnel and grant-funded staff.

Experience 

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in K-12 education, expanded learning, youth development, nonprofit programming, or federal/state grant administration.
• Three years of successful supervisory or program leadership experience, including staff evaluation, coaching, budget management, and multi-site implementation.
• Demonstrated experience meeting grant deliverables, managing partnerships, using data for continuous improvement, and preparing formal performance or compliance reports.
• Experience serving high-need, economically disadvantaged, emergent bilingual, at-risk, immigrant, homeless, and/or special education populations preferred. 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• Advanced knowledge of 21st CCLC/Texas ACE program requirements, the Texas ACE Blueprint, GPRA performance measures, TEA grant guidance, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of federal grant administration, Uniform Guidance/EDGAR, allowable costs, procurement, contracts, time-and-effort documentation, inventory controls, and audit readiness.
• Knowledge of TEKS, High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), High-Impact Tutoring (HIT), HB 1416 accelerated instruction, social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, and positive youth development.
• Ability to analyze academic, attendance, behavior, participation, family engagement, and fiscal data and convert findings into clear corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, supervision, facilitation, project management, written communication, public presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead cross-sector partners, work effectively with campus principals and central office departments, and communicate with families in culturally responsive ways.
• Proficiency with student information systems, spreadsheets, dashboards, and TEA-designated systems such as TX21st, EZReports, ACE Navigator, or successor platforms.

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Tools / Equipment

Standard office equipment; computers and peripherals; student information, grant reporting, budgeting, dashboard, communication, and presentation systems.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged sitting and computer use; frequent standing, walking, speaking, listening, and campus observations.
• Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting/carrying materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to inspect program areas, travel between buildings, and respond promptly to operational or safety concerns.

Environmental Factors

• Frequent travel among RYSS campuses, partner locations, and meetings; occasional regional or statewide travel.
• Regular afternoon/evening responsibilities and periodic weekend or summer activities based on program operations.
• Work in school, office, community, and event environments with noise, interruptions, deadlines and periods of high stress.
