Job description

Job Title: Summer School-Elementary Teacher
Location: Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success (Houston & Pasadena Campuses)
Reports To: Summer School Principal / Campus Administrator
Employment Type: Temporary / Seasonal
Hourly Rate: $30/hour
Dates of Employment: June 8, 2026 to July 3, 2026
Position Summary:






Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success (RYSS) is seeking passionate and mission-driven educators to join our Summer School program. The Summer School Teacher will provide targeted instruction to support student academic growth and readiness for the upcoming school year, in alignment with the RYSS mission to empower students through high-quality, culturally responsive education.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in core subject areas (e.g., Math, Reading, Science) for students in elementary.
  • Implement lesson plans that reflect the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students requiring academic intervention.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to support student success.
  • Participate in required training, planning sessions, and staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification in the appropriate subject and grade level is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including bilingual and at-risk students.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of RYSS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies.
  • Familiarity with TEKS and STAAR-aligned curriculum.
