Description
The Patron Relations and Marketing (PRM) Manager for Kirkland Fine Arts Center (KFAC) and the College of Fine Arts (CFA) develops marketing and sales strategies for performing arts events at Millikin University. Millikin uses AudienceView ticketing systems, and the PRM will generate marketing data and reports for all CFA/KFAC events. Will also provide support for events and programming for the Millikin Community Arts Academy, summer camps, and community engagement activities.
Millikin's primary performance venues include KFAC (2000-seat roadhouse), Albert Taylor Theatre (270-seat proscenium) and the Rogers Theatre (250-seat flexible/courtyard theatre) in the new Center for Theatre and Dance. The combined CFA and KFAC performance and concert seasons typically feature over 40 performances and university events including theatre productions, symphony and ensemble concerts, and professional visiting artists. The Ticket Office handles sales of over $250K or 30K tickets per year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Create and manage listings of events/ticket links across websites of the Arts at Millikin
• Manage event promotions across all the Arts at Millikin social media pages.
• In collaboration with the KFAC Director and CFA dean and faculty, research and develop marketing, messaging, and sales strategies to enhance audience engagement.
• Work with Marketing and Media Relations on promotional materials (print, media, web)
• Meet regularly with the Friends of Kirkland (donors)
• Develop and support an Arts at Millikin advisory group to promote engagement, enhance patron services, solicit sponsorships from local businesses and individuals, and provide advice and feedback on programming.
• Monitor and analyze data from AudienceView regarding sales, attendance, and patron information.
• Provide patron management support at specified events.
• Train and supervise student workers and interns as assigned.
• Provide support for summer camps and other arts activities that serve the community.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises student front-of-house staff and interns. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the university's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff members, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff members; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to succeed in a result-driven professional organization. Ability to manage results through a staff of direct and indirect employees. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to drive a team in a focused direction. Expert knowledge of higher education processes and practices. Professional performance and results working under pressure in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. Customer, budget, quality, and delivery conscious mindset. Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork. Highly organized, with the ability to plan, execute and multitask in order to meet deadlines and keep projects under budget. Must have a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience in marketing, sales, and public relations, including research and strategy, preferably in the non-profit performing arts sector.
• Excellent digital media (web and social) skills
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills in a public-facing position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
