Position Summary
Located 45 minutes from the Nation's Capital, nestled in a history-rich community of southern Maryland, The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is a two-time Aspen Award-winning institution (top 15% of Community Colleges) with academic programs in over 100 disciplines. CSM is among America's top 100 producers of Minority Associate Degrees in twenty categories, according to Diverse Issues in Higher Education. CSM offers excellent health insurance benefits; State Retirement Pension plan; wellness programs; Code Green early closure Fridays in the summer; college closure for spring break and several major holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year; and for several days in March for Spring Break. This is a pool for part-time faculty in the School of STEM and Professional Studies. The School of School of STEM and Professional Studies, Technology Department, is looking for highly skilled individuals for adjunct teaching positions for the following programs: Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Computer Science and Data Science. We have an immediate need for individuals who can teach Cisco networking, digital forensics, and AWS cloud at the La Plata and Leonardtown campuses. Additional areas of skills needed are in Linux, ethical hacking & Defense, Server Management, Python, Java, hardware/software basics, and data science (MS Access, SQL, MS Project, Tableau, Jupyter).
CSM's Cybersecurity Program (a designated Center of Academic Excellence (CAE-C) by The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity), named one of the top 10 best cybersecurity program in the nation for 2025 by intelligent.com and is an educational partner with USCYBERCOM.

Adjunct faculty are responsible for teaching classes, grading, responding to students' emails, and meeting with students outside of class as needed.

  • Some type of teaching or facilitator experience
