We’re looking for a creative, hands-on, and energetic teacher to lead our fun-filled robot-building classes for children in New Jersey!
Jersey Robots LLC programs combine creativity, imaginative engineering with joyful learning—and we need YOU to help bring the magic to life.

About the Role

As a Part-Time Robotics Teacher, you’ll guide students through screen-free, hands-on robot building using our exclusive Brooklyn Robot Foundry kits.
You'll be the heart of the classroom experience—keeping kids engaged, encouraging creativity, and ensuring everyone walks away feeling proud of what they’ve built.
You'll receive full training, so you don't need to be a robotics expert—just someone who loves learning, creating, and working with kids!
What You'll Do

  • Lead fun and engaging robot-building classes (after-school, weekend events, school breaks, birthday parties, etc.)
  • Prep classroom space and transport materials to and from teaching locations/our office
  • Use and complete daily checklists to ensure smooth class execution
  • Maintain student safety and manage class dynamics
  • Communicate supply needs or issues with robot kits
  • Team up with assistant teachers or volunteers—sometimes you’ll even be the one leading the crew! (once you have gained ample experience)
  • Provide feedback and insights to help improve the program
  • Be the face of Brooklyn Robot Foundry for students and families!
You’d Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Are creative, crafty, and enjoy DIY projects (hot glue guns, cardboard, and popsicle sticks are your jam!
  • Love working with kids and have experience teaching, babysitting, or running camps
  • Are dependable, friendly, and high-energy
  • Are flexible and calm under pressure—things don’t always go as planned!
  • Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Are excited to inspire the next generation of makers and tinkerers
  • Believe in making STEAM education fun, inclusive, and hands-on
Requirements:

  • Must be a graduating high school senior or older
  • Flexible availability for weekdays and weekends as needed. The role will start at approximately 10–15 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 20–25 hours per week as our programs expand.
  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
  • Must pass a background check
  • Have reliable transportation to locations across Central NJ (Edison, Princeton, Metuchen, Woodbridge, etc.)
  • Able to lift 35 lbs
Bonus Points for Experience In:

  • Teaching or leading a classroom
  • Crafting or building 3D objects (woodworking, sculpture, art, set design)
  • Using power tools or basic circuits
  • Coding or basic programming (Scratch, Blockly, etc.)
  • Leading summer camps, workshops, or youth programs
Why You’ll Love Working with Us

  • Paid training and ongoing support
  • Flexible schedule
  • A joyful, dynamic, and collaborative work environment
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s confidence, creativity, and curiosity
